Halloween 2010

Ella decided this year that she wanted to be a black cat for Halloween. Partially, I think, because of Jack and also because her friend Sophie was going as a puppy and they went trick or treating together.

We also decided to make a special Halloween treat this year so we tried out Halloween Marshmallow Witches, they turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Ella had an awesome time trick or treating twice. First in Andersonville on the Saturday before the holiday the merchants sponsor a trick or treat event that was a ton of fun. We went with cousin Sean (also Aunt Pam, Grammy and Grampy) as well as Eleanor and her friend Claire (and Ayi Cynthia). The kids loved running from store to store and it didn't hurt that it was actually a beautiful day out to enjoy the walking around. It was really special for Ella because she has never been able to trick or treat with her cousin before, next to all that candy, it was definitely her favorite part.


On Halloween we went to Oak Park to trick or treat and have dinner with our friends the Paynes. We had fun wandering around their neighborhoods and in the end, Ella had two full buckets of candy, yikes! Actually, after dinner she and Sophie got so involved in playing Zhu Zhu pets that she didn't even eat any candy on Halloween. Believe me, she's made up for it since. It was a great Halloween weekend!
